Goa Minister Wants To Make Tourism More Expensive in Goa!

Goa is famous for tourist destination in India for both domestic and international visitors. It is situated in South West of India in a coastal region known as Konkan. It is a biodiversity hotspot and rich in flora and fauna. Goa highly depends on tourism for its revenue. The domestic visitors do not contribute to the economy as much as foreign visitors do.

Minister wants to make tourism more expensive

State minister for agriculture, Town and country planning minister Vijai Sardesai decided to make Goa so expensive that only foreign can visit. It will increase the overall economy of Goa as it highly dependent on tourism for the revenue. They are going to make Goa more attractive to the tourism. They will make it a place for a high-end facility and high-end tourism. The residents of Goa is about 1.5 million. Which is much less than the 6 million tourists who visited every year. However, the number of visitors increases during the festive week.

Goa visitors

 The decision made by minister consider beneficial for the future of state but it will discourage the Indian visitors.  It’s economy largely run on tourism. The Indian visitors do not spend much on tourism and minister want to switch economy over foreign visitors. Today about 64 lakhs tourists make visit and govt want to take it to 1 crore. It has highest GDP growth among all Indian states.

Beautiful places of Goa

It is a beautiful place for tourist and has everything at one place. The beaches and places of worship are the centers of attraction for visitors. The beaches are divided into two parts  North and South region which cover more than 125 kilometers. Some Popular beaches are Baju, Anjuna, Colva etc. The minister has created a condition which has two-sided effects. On one hand, it discourages domestic customers but on other hands, it encourages more and more foreign visitors.
