The former Indian captain Anil Kumble who served as Indian head coach for slightly over an year has recently stepped down from his position.

Reports suggest that he is not touring with the national side to West Indies where the men in blue are to play a 5 match ODI series and a T20 match. However there is no official announcement of the same from BCCI. As per the sources he will not be in run for India’s next head coach.

“Today was the last day of Anil Kumble’s contract and he does not want to continue further as Indian team’s coach,” said news agency ANI.

Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle took to his twitter account and wrote,” If it is true that @anilkumble1074 has stepped down as coach, Indian cricket has let itself lose an outstanding resource.”
In a series of three tweets he tweeted, “Having said that, it is inevitable that if there is a falling out between captain and coach, the captain will have his way.” and “Organisations must strive to preserve committed people. I will be disappointed if there isn’t a bigger role for @anilkumble1074”.

Before the start of champions trophy there were rumors of ‘things not profound’ between the skipper Kohli and Kumble but the skipper came in person to clear the things and said that there was no rift between him and the head coach.

However the media reports of last few days have an entire different story to tell. As per the reports, Virat Kohli strongly objected for renewing the contract of Anil Kumble in front of COA owing to which the head coach didn’t travel with the team to West Indies tour and perhaps stepped down.

There is a slight possibility that the rumored news is not a fact but as of now there seems to be a hustle bustle in the cricket world with people expressing their reaction of twitter and other social media platforms.

Here is how the world reacted to it:
